FAQ

Quick answers

How do I close an open SVG path?
Click Close path. Each subpath that does not already end in Z gets a closepath, so the last point connects back to that subpath’s M.
How is closing a path different from creating a compound path?
Create Compound Path joins sibling <path> elements into one evenodd d. This page never merges elements — it only appends Z on the path you already have.
Does close-open-path join two sibling paths together?
No. Two open chevrons stay two elements, each closed on its own. Unite or Create Compound if you want one d.
What if the path is already closed with Z?
Nothing. Subpaths that already end in Z are left as-is, so a second click is a no-op.
