FAQ

Quick answers

How do I convert smooth SVG curves to lines?
Paste a path with C, S, Q, T, or A commands, set Steps, and click Flatten to lines. Each curve is sampled into straight L segments. Circles and ellipses become closed polylines.
How is this different from Convert SVG Arcs to Cubic Curves?
Arcs → cubics keeps a smooth Bézier. This page removes smoothness: the result is only M, L, and Z, which plotters, vinyl cutters, and some CNC pipelines require.
Does Flatten to lines simplify or reduce nodes?
No. Reduce SVG Path Nodes drops redundant points on an existing polyline. This tool adds points by tessellating curves. Round Path Decimals only trims numeric precision.
What does the Steps value change?
Steps is how many line segments replace one curve. 4 is a coarse polygon; 16–24 follows the original shape more closely and grows the path data.
