FAQ

Quick answers

How do I set SVG font-style?
Pick italic, oblique, or normal and click Set style. The value is written on every <text> and <tspan>, including style attributes. Same style again is a no-op.
How is italic different from skewing the path?
Skew path rewrites path d into a shear. font-style asks the font for its italic/oblique cut (or a synthetic slant). Shapes are untouched; the string stays editable.
What is the difference between italic and oblique?
italic prefers a designed italic face. oblique slants the upright cut. Many webfonts map both to the same file — the attribute still differs in the markup.
Does font-style outline the letters?
No. Convert SVG Text to Path outlines. This page keeps live text and only writes font-style.
