FAQ

Quick answers

How do I convert a dashed stroke to a path?
Click Bake dashes. The tool walks each stroked shape that has stroke-dasharray, writes one subpath per dash, and removes dasharray and dashoffset.
Does Bake dashes outline the stroke into a filled ribbon?
No. Convert SVG Stroke to Path builds a filled evenodd ribbon. This page keeps a stroke and only bakes the dash pattern into geometry — vinyl and CNC jobs that cannot use dasharray.
Do the gaps stay as empty space?
Yes. Gaps are not drawn. You get separate open subpaths where the dashes were, so the look stays dashed without dasharray.
Will a solid stroke with no dasharray change?
No. Shapes without stroke-dasharray are skipped. Use Stroke to Path if you need to outline a solid stroke.
